History
Live Oak, Texas is near the junction of Interstate Highway 35 and Loop 1604, thirteen miles northeast of downtown San Antonio in northeastern Bexar County.
It incorporated in the 1960’s and first appeared on the United States census rolls in 1970, when a population of 2,779 was reported. Since that time the community has grown rapidly.
Geography
Live Oak is located at 29°33'2?N 98°20'18?W / 29.55056, -98.33833 (29.550562, -98.338373). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.7 square miles (12.2 km˛), of which, 4.7 square miles (12.1 km˛) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km˛) of it (0.64%) is water.
